New Grawemeyer winners to be named Nov. 28-Dec. 2
The University of Louisville and Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary will name the winners of the 2012 Grawemeyer Awards on these dates:
- Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition, Monday, Nov. 28.
- Grawemeyer Award for Ideas Improving World Order, Tuesday, Nov. 29
- Grawemeyer Award for Psychology, Wednesday, Nov. 30
- Grawemeyer Award in Religion, Friday, Dec. 2
Selection of a 2012 Grawemeyer Award in Education winner is still pending.
UofL presents the music, world order, psychology and education prizes while UofL and the seminary jointly award the religion prize. This year’s prizes are $100,000 each.
Charles Grawemeyer, a Louisville industrialist, entrepreneur and UofL graduate, created the awards in 1984 to recognize outstanding works and ideas in the humanities.
